Sheila is adventurous and possibly our most outgoing member at Okie CrossFit. She loves exploring and hiking with her husband and isn’t afraid to go to a social event. Sheila recently celebrated her one year anniversary at Okie CrossFit. We asked her some questions about her time at Okie CrossFit and here is what she had to say.
Okie – What motivated you to start at Okie?
Sheila- I met Jake at a different CrossFit in 2011. When he opened another location downtown I had to check out what Okie had to offer. The past year has exceeded my expectations.
Okie- What keeps you coming back to Okie?
Sheila- THE COACHING! Always being introduced to new movements keeps workouts interesting. Not to mention the nutritional coaching – priceless.
Okie- How do you define your success?
Sheila- Success in terms of CrossFit is showing up every day (not literally every day. 4-5 days a week), especially on the days you don’t want to. Which is a direct parallel for life in general.
Okie- What was your biggest obstacle you overcame to achieve your success?
Sheila- I had to start listening to my body. I can still achieve those PR’s and gymnastics movements (safely), it’s just this 45 year old body may take a little longer.
Okie- What advice would you give others looking to start with Okie?
Sheila- Okie is a place you can walk in, workout and instantly gain 100+ friends. It is a great community full of knowledge and hard workers but understands having fun along the way!
